The company has long been rumoured to be planning to launch an augmented reality headset next year

Apple is reportedly looking to recruit software engineers who can help it build a video service for its new virtual reality headset.

The company has long been rumoured to be planning to launch an augmented reality headset next year.

Bloomberg reports it has seen a job listing for a software engineer who can content for AR and VR environments.

The company is also said to be looking for engineers who can work on development tools that can be used in AR and VR.

The report suggests the listings imply that Apple is looking to build some kind of video service for its headset that would include 3D and AR content.

It’s also thought Apple is working on creating its own version of the metaverse, although it won’t use that term.
