As part of its latest update, Vinten has introduced a new feature to its Vega Robotic Control System software that enables dynamic spatial awareness between moving pedestals, fixed cameras, and other objects in the studio.
The Software Collision Avoidance feature continuously monitors the positions between roaming robotic pedestals as well as any mapped objects.
Vega 1.4 also integrates PTZ systems, providing unified control for a wide range of devices including Panasonic AW-UE150/160, Sony FR-7/AM-7, and Canon CR-N series (100, 300, 350, 400, 500, 700), along with Tecnopoint dedicated PTZ support solutions such as Triton, Tuning ceiling and floor dollies, Totem columns, and Simplo/Vario elevation units, said the company.
“Broadcasters are increasingly blending traditional robotic systems with PTZ solutions and demanding higher levels of automation safety,” said Sergio Brighel, EVP of robotics and prompting at Videndum.
“Vega 1.4 not only unifies these worlds under one control environment but also adds an intelligent safety layer to protect operations and enhance confidence on the studio floor.”
