QuickLink has detailed how its solutions were deployed on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity: Unpacked.
Facing the challenge of incorporating remote contributions into the production, the ITV Studios team selected StudioEdge to enable integration of guests, panel sessions and studio discussions via Zoom, Teams and QuickLink’s StudioCall. The first multi-platform remote guest solution simplified set-ups for the production team as they worked to accommodate guests’ platform preferences.

Roy Heath-Callow, former technical director at ITV Studios, explained, “For many years we had to rely on the contributor going to a studio and being on a satellite two-way, which was resource-intensive, costly and offered limited flexibility.
“In recent years, alternative platforms have been tried and tested, but they often tied contributors to specific software or systems, complicating workflows and reducing adaptability in live broadcast environments.”
In addition to the web-based management interface, AI-driven technology from NVIDIA also enabled the enhancement of guest video and audio contributions. “This ensured pristine clarity for Zoom, Microsoft Teams and StudioCall callers, even when network conditions were less than optimal,” added Heath-Callow.
