ITV Sport’s coverage of the group stages of Euro 2020 as well as Tour de France 2021 will be hosted from Maidstone Studios.
The facility will provide full broadcast facilities, socially distanced production spaces, dressing rooms, green rooms, offices and edit suites for over 140 people and an outdoor filming area for the Tour de France. Maidstone Studios was also ITV Sport’s base for the Tour in 2020.
Maidstone Studios will be working closely with Arena Television to supply all equipment required, including cameras, edit suites and recording equipment, which will all be supported by the IP core in Arena’s OBY OB Truck.
Senior unit manager at Arena Television, Oliver Guess, said: “We are delighted to support Maidstone on this project. The team and I are excited to get to it over the summer on the Euros as the complexity and detail that goes into facilitating this level of broadcast is exceptional.”
Chairman of Maidstone Studios, Geoff Miles, added: “We are delighted to welcome back ITV Sport to Maidstone Studios this summer and to have such prestigious tournaments broadcasting live from our facilities is fantastic. As a regional broadcast facility with dedicated lines and multiple filming spaces we have been able to host many Covid compliant primetime shows across 2020 and 2021.”
