ATP Media has announced a partnership with Kinetiq, aiming to enhance insights into how global broadcasters consume live tennis coverage,
As the broadcast arm of the ATP Tour, ATP Media distributes multiple live feeds to global broadcast partners from its central production centre in London. Aiming to gain greater visibility into how its feeds are used by broadcasters, the organisation has deployed Kinetiq’s Teletrax watermarking solution.
Before distribution, Teletrax embeds a unique, invisible identifier into each feed. When broadcast, the signal can be detected and traced back to the exact source feed, enabling ATP Media to see which feed is broadcast on a given channel and review the footage in near real-time.
These insights allow the organisation to:
- Understand feed usage, distribution patterns and rights-holder usage by identifying whether broadcasters air the World Feed or select individual Court Feeds
- Optimise production based on court utilisation
- Verify sponsor exposure and support accurate reporting in markets where virtual advertising overlays vary by region
- Measure downstream exposure and reach by tracking when ATP footage appears in highlights or news coverage
- Track TV mentions and commentary by searching broadcast coverage to identify when ATP Tour tournaments, players, or storylines are discussed across news and sports programming
Commenting, Jules Bernays, insights director at ATP Media, said, “The ATP Tour tournaments reach fans across hundreds of broadcasters globally, and understanding how our content is used across that ecosystem is increasingly important. By implementing Teletrax watermarking technology, we gain much greater visibility into which feeds are actually aired, helping us better manage distribution, support our broadcast partners, and ensure the value of our content and sponsors is fully understood.”
“Modern sports production involves multiple simultaneous feeds, regionalised broadcasts, and increasingly complex global distribution,” added Kevin Kohn, CEO of Kinetiq. “By embedding watermarking directly into each feed, organisations like ATP Media can see exactly how their content is used in live broadcast environments—bringing much-needed transparency to content distribution, sponsorship exposure, and the true reach of live sports.”
