Canon has debuted its Multi-Camera Orchestration (MCO) solution, which is designed to be operated by a single user.
The solution enables multiple PTZ cameras to be synchronised to a single main camera. Sub-cameras automatically respond to the main camera’s pan, tilt and zoom movements while maintaining pre-defined roles, enabling camera coordination and allowing users to instantly switch role sets without the need for manual reprogramming, said Canon.
Overhead cameras provide reliable subject tracking ensuring accuracy even during fast movements or tight zooms, said the company. Cameras automatically return to the subject position to support visual continuity in live environments such as news, talk shows and studio productions.
On-air shots can be instantly locked, eliminating unwanted movements and no-track zones can be defined to ensure cameras focus only on key areas.
Further key features of MCO include:
- Role-based presets for instant camera behaviour switching
- Automated alternative angles and group shots
- Custom no-track zones for predictable camera behaviour
MCO minimises set-up time for virtual production workflows and reduces crew requirements while ensuring high-quality visuals are maintained.
