Amazon Web Services has announced a strategic partnership with the DP World Tour.
The collaboration will leverage Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) AI infrastructure to drive a suite of solutions aimed at enhancing media and audience engagement.
AWS Media Services will aim to boost personalisation and social media experiences, enabling video and on-demand content to be streamed. Generative AI solutions will drive new data-driven insights and provide commentary with instantaneous language translation.

Nina Walsh, global leader, industry business development for media, entertainment, games, and sports at AWS, said, “Building an AI system that understands golf’s nuances is incredibly complex. Imagine following a crucial shot on your mobile device and instantly understanding not just the distance, but the historical success rate, the impact of the wind, or how the player performs under pressure – all narrated in your preferred language. That’s the experience we want to deliver to every golf fan worldwide.”
An AI-powered Media Asset Management (MAM) solution will automatically tag metadata, enabling the Tour to provide an intelligent, searchable archive of its content, instantly identifying players, shots and key moments.
Since 2024, the DP World Tour has worked to extend remote production for TV broadcasts. AWS’s live cloud production services will aim to increase the scale of remote production rollout, supporting the Tour’s net zero goals. AWS will also power Green Drive Live, which uses machine learning to optimise environmental performance.
Additionally,AWS will develop a second generation of the Tour’s Virtual Twin solution, creating a digital replica of each course. With more than 1 million data points per tournament processed, the technology combines historic data, current conditions and predictive analytics to provide comprehensive details of every hole, shown on mobile devices and screens across the venue. A new intelligence platform will analyse multiple data sources in real-time to inform operational decisions inside the venues.
