French systems integrator Videlio Events has based three standalone flyaway video control rooms around Riedel’s MediorNet HorizoN, providing IP gateways and UDX and SDR/HDR conversion, with routing and multiviewing enabled by MediorNet MicroN UHD.
The rooms can be assembled and interconnected in any combination and are able to be integrated when separated by considerable distances, a capability which aims to allow Videlio to adapt to diverse production scenarios. More than 90 per cent of its use cases can be covered without complex reconfigurations, said the company.

Leveraging Riedel’s MediorMind orchestration layer, operators can simplify production across the network, adding or removing preconfigured nodes and saving multiviewer layouts. The system enables faster setup and teardown, reducing complex cabling to just two cables, said Riedel. Both SDI and SMPTE ST 2110 are supported, allowing Videlio to adopt IP capabilities without disrupting existing workflows.
Vincent Varoquier, technical director at Videlio Events, commented, “Over our decade-long partnership, Riedel has consistently demonstrated its commitment to addressing our challenges, solidifying the company’s role as a trusted advisor in our technological evolution. Our experience with Riedel’s MediorNet family, particularly HorizoN, has transformed our production capabilities. The platform’s decentralised architecture and impressive processing power in a compact 1RU form factor have drastically simplified our signal management, reducing setup times from hours to minutes. This hybrid solution allows us to adopt IP technology at our own pace, prioritising operational benefits while ensuring our team’s comfort with new workflows.”
The solution was demonstrated across two major events in France last year, with Videlio able to redeploy assets from Paris to Lyon in just five days, providing support for both live and recorded broadcast elements.
