ASG adds Viz Vectar Plus to virtual production control room ecosystem

Switcher uses Vizrt's NDI video-over IP protocol

Advanced Systems Group has added Viz Vectar Plus software-based live production switcher from Vizrt to its recently launched Virtual Production Control Room ecosystem.

The switcher uses Vizrt’s NDI video-over IP protocol.

“NDI quickly established itself as the de facto standard for IP-based live video production, and it’s a critical element of the Virtual Production Control Room infrastructure,” said Dave Van Hoy, president of ASG. “Vizrt has also done an excellent job adapting its existing technology for cloud-based production, and Viz Vectar Plus is a welcome addition to the Virtual Production Control Room.”

The Virtual Production Control Room is a multi-vendor, best-of-breed solution supported by more than two dozen companies. It is powered by Google Cloud for real-time, broadcast-quality coverage of live events and other programming.

According to ASG, no on-prem services are required to deliver content, and the system supports major videoconferencing applications with multiple live participants, enabling productions to include video switching effects, multi-channel audio, graphics, animations, and captions.
