Vizrt has signed a partnership agreement with Ncam and Vitec to sell and support fully combined systems using technology from each company for augmented reality production. “Ncam’s technology offers a lot of potential, especially for sports events,” said Francois Laborie, Vizrt’s CCO. “We are working now on even tighter integration, and will be showing some very nice things at NAB.”
Vizrt has been working with Ncam systems since 2013, when after customers requested augmented reality systems. Vitec signed a global distribution agreement for Ncam’s broadcast tracking product at NAB this year. “We’d been looking for an elegant tracking solution without any external sensors that would fit with our equipment in a virtual set environment,” said Graham Ramsey, senior VP, business development, Vitec Group.
“We think it’s the best tracking product on the market. It’s brand agnostic, so it will work with any camera and support system. You can bolt it on to the front of the camera. It is very simple to set up, and it moves with the camera so it will work on jibs, Steadicams, or handheld.”
