Leading Singapore media company MediaCorp PLT Ltd chose EVS’ digital production technology to broadcast Singapore’s recent election. The very model of a modern multi-platform media company, MediaCorp has interests in TV, radio, magazine publishing, film and digital out-of-home (DOOH).
MediaCorp has a long association with the EVS brand and recently acquired new XT2+ systems for live OB operations.
For the 7 May coverage of both Nomination and Polling day for Singapore’s 16th parliamentary election, MediaCorp specified EVS systems for the entire newsgathering and production workflow, replacing existing non-live technology currently used in its newsroom facilities.
The news production solution dedicated to the elections comprised and extended the range of EVS systems covering all aspects of the workflow. All gathered newsfeeds and files were centralized onto an extensive range of seven XT/XS series servers configured for online storage while guaranteeing instant access to browsing, editing and playout operations supported by the advanced dual SDTI and GigE network.
Combined with XT and XS series servers, IPDirector offered central media management to all journalists and editors who covered the election. The IPDirector was also operated by MediaCorp news production teams to air the production playlist and program packages received from edit suites.
Based on the system’s advanced HI/LO resolution configuration, the entire production process was managed in low resolution with instant high-res edit consolidation available for playout.
