VoIP support and the ability to add new channels or a VLAN tunnel have been added to the latest version of TVU Networks’ RPS (Remote Production System).
Version 3.0, on show at IBC2017, can synchronise across multiple unit pairs to create the additional channels and allows users to introduce a VLAN tunnel that will connect any IP device between the field and studio.
RPS has been devised to allow broadcasters to do remote multi-camera news or sports production from their existing control room using a public internet connection. It is said to be frame accurate and offer genlock and synchronisation. The RPS transmitter encodes up to six synchronised SDI sources and transmits low-latency IP video from the remote location to a studio-based receiver. The receiver can output six synchronised SDI outputs.
For the first time in Europe, the company is also showing its Producer software for web-based live production. Running on an existing TVU transceiver, Producer features a web interface and support for the Facebook API. It is said to allow a user to output to Facebook Live using a traditional TV workflow, switching between incoming TVU transmitter sources, SDI inputs and uploaded video slate sources and providing the ability to add graphics overlays.
