A new addition to the Phabrix handheld test and measurement line will be unveiled at IBC. The Phabrix TAG is designed as an entry level device, configured with a range of interfaces from analogue up to 3G-SDI.
According to Paul Nicholls, sales and marketing director of Phabrix, the TAG supports optical networks and is a different colour to the present Sx range, though it shares an easy to use GUI and focussed toolset with the portable 3G/HD/SD-SDI portable video test signal generator. The price is as yet unconfirmed, but Phabrix is specifically targeting the TAG at those making the transition to digital with small budgets
“We were looking to support the many enquiries we receive from India, Asia and South America where funding is lower than in Western markets,” said Nicholls. “However we think it will find a home in every broadcaster worldwide where budgets are tight.”
