Multiple enhancements from Pebble Beach

New improvements to automation, channel in a box and integrated channel technology will be demonstrated by Pebble Beach Systems at IBC this year.

New improvements to automation, channel in a box and integrated channel technology will be demonstrated by Pebble Beach Systems at IBC this year.

The company is showing an MPEG-2 transport stream delivered over IP on both the Dolphin integrated channel device and the Stingray channel in a box system, adding full resolution IP functionality to the range. It complements existing IP monitoring output capability, which was first demonstrated at NAB earlier this year.

Marina automation is boosted by the new SmartPanel, a user-configurable feature that gives customers the ability to design their own control panels within the Marina user interface. For example, a custom-designed panel could take manual control of both Marina and external devices, or perhaps be dedicated to controlling live graphics. Commands made via the SmartPanel are incorporated into Marina’s AsRun log, so in addition to the advantage of a single operator having this level of device control within the automation client, the Smart Panel brings system management benefits by improving reporting and traceability.

The company claimed that Marina automation would be controlling over 300 channels worldwide by the end of 2013. “With the introduction of new features such as the SmartPanel for Marina we continue to deliver innovative and adaptable tools which enable more efficient operations,” said Managing Director, Peter Hajittofi. “We have further announcements planned for IBC regarding significant developments in graphics functionality for the Stingray and Dolphin.”
