A multi-platform VR Player

SDK has been announced that will support playback of VR content from the OZO as well as content created on other VR cameras. Nokia’s Player SDK provides a unified interface that supports playback across all major VR platforms and devices including Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and GearVR.

The SDK supports 3D 360 video at playback resolutions of up to 4K per eye, multiple projection formats, true 3D audio with full head rotation support, and a handheld mode for tablets and phones without headsets.

Three free software downloads are available to help reduce the complexity of 3D stitching, post-production time and cost. OZO Remote gives wireless control over the camera and supports interactive Live VR Preview, within an Oculus Rift DK2 headset; Creator allows you to review recorded footage and transcode OZO files to industry standard file formats for “audio sweetening” and video compositing. Preview is used during post to preview camera-original rendered OZO files.

Nokia partners include Elemental, Akamai, Deluxe, Jaunt and The Foundry.
