When your solutions monitor can analyse a billion streams each month, the term ‘Big Data’ hardly begins to cover what’s involved.
That’s what’s at the heart of Verimatrix’s business – and, as CEO Tom Munro pointed out, it’s not just about security and revenue enhancement.
“What we’re looking for are anomalies – things that aren’t quite right – and we use AI to some degree to do that,” he explained.
“But looking for those anomalies identifies other issues – to do with the way a system is designed, for example – and taking action based on that information results in better systems.”
He points out that the data in those streams can also be used by, for example, recommendation engines and to improve quality of service.
“The most successful companies know the value of data, and embrace that value,” Munro said.
