Aiming to create more efficiency in post production facilities, Quantum is showing how its Xcellis workflow storage can support animation and editorial teams working together and sharing content.
This is being demonstrated at IBC with Blackmagic’s DaVinci Resolve for colour grading at the same time as Autodesk Flame for compositing and rendering.
Senior product marketing manager Janet Lafleur said: “In many facilities, the teams don’t share a common storage system, meaning that they have to make copies, tying up their system so they can’t work. With this combined platform they can be more efficient and share content more directly.”
She added that Xcellis “offers the right performance profile to animation, while at the same time being able to stream up to four streams of 16-bit uncompressed 4K”.
