Kanal 75 invests in Avid MAM system

Sweden’s leading horse-racing production outfit and a wholly owned company of ATG, Kanal 75, has invested in an Avid Interplay Media Asset Management (MAM) system to store, manage and monetise its footage. Kanal 75 has been an Avid customer for more than a decade.

Sweden’s leading horse-racing production outfit and a wholly owned company of ATG, Kanal 75, has invested in an Avid Interplay Media Asset Management (MAM) system to store, manage and monetise its footage, writes David Davies.

Kanal 75 – which has been an Avid customer since it launched in 2000 – is integrating MAM into its existing Avid infrastructure, which includes Avid ISIS 7000 shared storage, NewsCutter editing software, Nitris DX and Avid Mojo DX hardware, iNEWS Command, and AirSpeed Multi Stream HD video server for ingest and playout.

The latest project has seen Kanal 75 work closely with Avid Professional Services to ensure that the integration proceeds as required.

Robert Svensson, assistant technical manager at Kanal 75, commented: “We record thousands of races each year -both local and international – and needed a reliable, productive, and open media asset management system. Avid Interplay MAM fits perfectly with our requirements and enables us to manage and monetise our media and metadata in ways that we simply couldn’t achieve before. We’re very excited about the possibilities that Interplay MAM brings to the table.”

Anders Lundström, senior enterprise account manager at Avid Sweden, added: “Kanal 75 knew exactly what they wanted the business to gain from their investment in Avid Interplay MAM. We listened to Kanal 75’s requirements and built a system to achieve their desired outcome – to make money with their content, which is ultimately the goal of any content owner.”

Kanal 75’s system is currently being implemented and is expected to go live in December.
