IBC2024: Meet the speaker – David Bouchier

Ahead of this year’s IBC Show, TVBEurope catches up with some of the speakers at the Conference to find out more about what they’ll be discussing and why IBC is such an important date on the media calendar.

We start with David Bouchier, chief TV and entertainment officer, Virgin Media O2.

What will you be speaking about at IBC2024?

I’ll be speaking about FAST (free ad-funded streaming TV) channels on cable platforms on Saturday 14th September at 12.15pm, in the session entitled ‘How to bring FAST to market – fast’.

We’ll cover how Virgin Media O2 is exploring the growth in streaming TV through VMO2 set-top boxes, discussing our approach to content curation, user experience — and talking more about what FAST brings to the pay-TV arena.

What do you hope the audience takes away from your session?

That pay-TV platforms need to evolve away from the traditional linear offering and embrace not only SVoD subscriptions, but also other forms of video including AVoD.
