The winner of this year’s prestigious International Honour for Excellence is Manolo Romero, the managing director of Olympic Broadcasting Services.
Olympic Broadcasting Services was created by the International Olympic Committee to serve as host broadcaster for the Games beginning in Beijing in 2008. He also served as CEO for the Vancouver host broadcaster, and is taking on the same role for Olympic Broadcasting Services London, preparing for 2012.
Peter Owen, chair of the IBC Council which presents the Award, said: “IBC is all about bringing leading edge innovation to bear on creative and communications challenges, and that has clearly been the aim of Manolo Romero throughout his career. He is a worthy winner of the 2010 IBC International Honour for Excellence.”
