Clear-Com has announced the European availability of its new HelixNet Partyline, described enthusiastically by the company as the world’s first networked partyline intercom system.
The product was recently used by live production teams at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and “other recent London events.”
The company said it designed the HelixNet Partyline to transmit four channels of digital quality audio, plus program and power for beltpacks, over a single, shielded twisted-pair cable (ex. microphone cable, CAT5 or CAT6 cable) to preserve existing investments in intercom systems and cabling.
The central administration of the entire system can be performed from the 1RU main station with a single cable, including firmware upgrades and maintenance, so HelixNet can work off an existing cable infrastructure. – Monica Heck
