Fun Run raises $35,000

This year’s 4K 4Charity Fun Run raised more than $35,000 in donations for global and local charitable organisations. The event drew approximately 450 registrants, an increase compared to last year.

The top three male finishers were Andy Hickman of Eurofins Digital Testing, Ben Cop of Altera (now part of Intel) and Todd Kelly of Aspera. The top three female finishers were Laura Petrosillo of Aspera, Amy Cope-Balchin and Laney Lewis of IBM Cloud Video.

“We are deeply appreciative of the generosity of both our sponsors and the individual participants, as well as for the strong support from our media partners and IBC,” said Laura Barber, director of field marketing and publicity at run sponsor Elemental Technologies. “Together, we’ve raised more than a quarter of a million dollars for worthy charities.”

All proceeds from 4K 4Charity Fun Run registrations will be donated to two worthy charities: Heifer International, a global charitable organisation that helps bring sustainable agriculture and commerce to areas with a long history of poverty; and Jeugdsportfonds, an Amsterdam charity that offers sports opportunities to children four to 18 years of age.

Total gross donations for the 4K 4Charity Fun Run Series now top $250,000. Among the sponsors for the 4K 4Charity Fun Run at IBC 2016 were Aspera – an IBM Company, Verimatrix, Brightcove, Dolby, ChyronHego, Intelsat and Xstream.

IBC was the official association sponsor, and NewBay and Rapid TV News were the exclusive media partners for the event.
