Over-the-top delivery firm Streamroot is showcasing the extension of its distributed video delivery solution. Streamroot DNA, an infrastructure-as-a-service solution, now supports iOS, Android and Chromecast as well as desktop operating systems.
The company also provided an update on how Streamroot DNA has helped media groups and OTT providers globally to meet growing audience numbers, cut delivery costs and improve the user experience.
For example, this year alone Streamroot helped Eurosport deliver nearly 60 per cent of the traffic on the Eurosport Player, which saw record traffic volumes during the first two Grand Slam
tennis tournaments.
The company also supports Dailymotion’s VoD services, delivering 50 per cent of traffic in over 180 countries.
According to Pierre-Louis Theron, co-founder and CEO of Streamroot, the company believes it is making a difference with its distributed approach to OTT video delivery and its pricing model, offering “unlimited delivery for a flat monthly platform fee”.
