Dark fibre ring

Oslo, Norway, is the location for Norwia’s recent implementation of a 12-node dark fibre ring architecture for video transport for NRK, the government-owned TV and radio broadcaster. Tracey J W Ford, chief sales and marketing officer at Norwia, commented:

“The whole system is designed around one card using our Auto SFP product, that enables over 200 different combinations on the one card. .

This is a bare-bones, basic ring structure network but Auto SFP brings this to a new level of usability with simplicity.”

The network operates on two rings: the media network ring which has equipment installed at each node and the news ring for portable usage that consists of two systems.
