Audio takes centre stage

Monday morning sees an unofficial audio morning take place at the Conference, with sessions covering loudness, immersive audio and the future of digital radio.

Monday morning sees an unofficial audio morning taking place at the IBC Conference. It starts with ‘The Loudness Breakfast’ (10 September, 08.00 – 09.00) which combines a light breakfast kindly provided by the EBU with a focus on the facts, technology, standards and issues surrounding loudness. That is followed by a fascinating session looking at Immersive Audio, which highlights not only the importance of placing objects correctly in a 3D soundscape, but also takes a detailed look at the signal processing involved in producing the 22.2 audio of Super Hi-Vision. And finally ‘The Digital Radio Experience: Case Studies on Going Digital’ provides a comprehensive overview of digital radio programmed by WorldDMB.
