Games video viewers subscribe to more SVoD services than average users

According to Juniper's Digital TV and Video Streaming Survey: Consumer Attitudes 2018

Viewers of games videos are more likely to subscribe to a greater number of SVoD services than the average user, Juniper Research has found.

The survey of SVoD viewers in the US, UK and China revealed that people who watch games videos subscribe to around six SVoD services, compared with the average of two to three.

The research found that games video viewers watch more video content in general, with over 70 per cent watching streamed video several times a day, versus 56 per cent for the average user.

The survey also revealed that traditional TV still has a place, with only 35 per cent of US SVoD subscribers using streaming services more frequently than terrestrial or cable TV.

Sport viewers are even more conservative, according to Juniper’s research – 92 per cent of US sport streaming users watch sport content elsewhere, such as through terrestrial TV or in a public venue.
