M7 Group adds Epic Drama to Skylink platform

Deal extends the TV provider’s reach in the Czech Republic and Slovakia

Viasat World has announced that M7 Group will add its new content brand, Epic Drama, to its Skylink DTH platform from 1st September.

The addition of the new channel to the Skylink platform – which extends a decade-long partnership between the companies – is expected to significantly extend the TV provider’s reach in the Czech Republic and Slovakian markets where it operates.

Epic Drama HD will be available in the SMART Basic Pay-TV tier on Skylink, alongside Viasat Explore, Viasat History and Viasat Nature – which the deal also serves to renew. An Epic Drama SVoD service will also launch via Skylink at a date TBC.

Viasat World launched Epic Drama in its key international markets in December 2017, amassing more than 10 million subscriptions via over 60 operator partners in just six months.

Programme highlights on Epic Drama when it launches on Skylink in September will include: Beowulf: Return to The Shieldlands, The Tudors (season four), Bletchley Circle (series two) and Endeavour (series four).

“We are delighted that M7 Group is adding our brand-new content brand Epic Drama to Skylink – testament to our commitment to understanding our clients’ needs and our shared goal of delivering relevant content to audiences,” said Tamas Horvath, commercial director at Viasat World. “Epic Drama’s differentiated proposition sets it apart from the crowd – giving people access to world-class, acclaimed drama content 24/7 when and where they want it.”

“With so much content out there, there is still demand for quality series channels which expertly curate the very best of what is on offer,” added M7 Group’s Jaromír Glisník. “Viasat World’s pedigree in content curation speaks volumes; its high performing documentary channels which aggregate top quality content really resonate with our customers, so we are thrilled they will now also receive Epic Drama which is proving to be a real hit with audiences.”
