RR Media centres on Argosy

When it relocated its global operation to Acton last year, RR Media wanted Argosy infrastructure in its custom-designed building

When it relocated its global operation to Acton last year, RR Media wanted Argosy infrastructure in its custom-designed building, used to service content preparation, playout and online video services for live, global and local multi-screen distribution.

Argosy supplied equipment racking, Image 360 and 1,000 HD digital video cables, patch panels, mains distributions units and connectors.

“A significant factor was the breadth and quality of the company’s product offering, in particular their new equipment racks which ensured easy installation at our new facility,” explains Simon Kay, managing director of RR Media Europe.

“Argosy has a solid understanding of our business and was able to deliver the high-quality products needed to support the implementation of the new facility and they did so on time, and within budget.”

The Argosy in-house equipment rack incorporates a plethora of features to support quick and easy installation. Its new open design maximises access to cables making it easy to install. It also provides the flexibility to allow customers to incorporate additional sets of cable trays where intensive cabling is required, and to change the positioning of mounting profiles to allow quick and easy relocation to suit the customers’ individual requirements.

“We aim to understand our customers’ business drivers and timescales and are delighted to have been involved in RR Media’s relocation project in west London,” said John Sears, senior field sales engineer, Argosy. “This was a demanding project in terms of the fast turnarounds needed to facilitate this move.”
