PlayBox Technology goes for Neo

By lunchtime on the first day of the exhibition, Don Ash (pictured), president of PlayBox Technology stated that this was already the busiest time he had experienced at BVE.

“Lots of people are interested in both our CloudAir Universal Playout and Streaming platform, but also our Neo Channel in a Box solution.”

He said that as a pioneer in the Channel in a Box (CIAB) market, there was always room for further development, and the result of that work is Neo. “We didn’t go back to square one to rewrite what we had previously achieved, but this is a development that has come about as a result of listening to operators of multiple channel playout.”

One change has been an improvement in the user interface; now there is a black background with grey lettering. “This may seem a small thing, but when you have multiple channels to look after, easy readability is important.”

The new CIAB also enables UHD, HD and SD to be shown on the same interface.

Ash continued, “Our products are feature-rich and we now playout over 16,000 channels worldwide.”

With the CloudAir platform, PlayBox Technology’s CIAB now runs in a virtual environment “One of the main differences with Neo is that it reduces hardware dependency. We want everything to be software-centric, so that all operations can be carried out in the cloud.”
