Vice Media has taken a majority stake in art, architecture, fashion and design magazine Garage.

The youth media group is planning to ‘significantly grow’ Garage’s online presence by creating a digital channel for its new acquisition.

Garage will maintain it’s biannual print run whilst running a new digital channel featuring original video, exclusive news, interviews and events.

“Through Garage’s partnership with Vice, we hope to broaden the lens through which our audiences are exposed to art, architecture fashion and design,” said Garage founder and Russian businesswoman Dasha Zhukova.

The magazine will also be expanding its editorial teams, with new local editions in mind.

Vice Media’s global executive creative director, Tom Punch, added, “Garage will bring an arsenal of creative ideas and people to Vice so we are thrilled to help Dasha grow Garage’s digital presence and bring their ideas and collaborations to new audiences around the globe.”
