Veteran media analyst Porter Bibb says he expects Microsoft to acquire Netflix in the next two years as it aims to enter the streaming business.
Bibb, who has over 40 years experience within the media industry, said, “Microsoft is busy moving into the cloud business but “they don’t have any direct to the consumer content delivery. I think Netflix is going to be acquired by Microsoft, which doesn’t have any content right now.”
“Netflix, while a pioneer as a streaming service, doesn’t have a business model that is sustainable,” added Bibb.
“For every one in two movies, one makes a significant loss while one makes a significant gain… No one has cracked the code to fix this, although Netflix doesn’t have to deal with the ticket sales.”
