Ukraine Today launches in Spain

Ukraine’s English-language TV news channel Ukraine Today has begun broadcasting in Spain. The channel is available on Spain’s largest network ONO.

Ukraine’s English-language TV news channel Ukraine Today has begun broadcasting in Spain. The channel is available on Spain’s largest network ONO, which is owned by Vodaphone.

ONO is the only countrywide provider and covers over 300 cities in Spain including the nine largest cities. Ukraine Today will broadcast to two million households throughout the country.

“The launch of Ukraine Today on the largest cable network in Spain is one more step in the international expansion of our news outlet,” said Tetyana Pushnova, executive producer of Ukraine Today. “We have ambitious plans and in April 2015, Ukraine Today will also be unveiled on several more cable networks in western Europe.”

Ukraine Today is the world’s first Ukrainian English language TV news channel. Launched in August 2014, the channel offers current affairs coverage focusing on Ukraine, eastern Europe and the countries of the former Soviet Union. Channel content includes breaking news and coverage of the conflict in east Ukraine to sports, culture, social and lifestyle news. Part of the 1+1 media group of companies, Ukraine Today is headquartered in the country’s capital, Kiev.

Ukraine Today currently broadcasts via the Hotbird satellite which reaches 30-40 million households in Europe, Middle East and South Africa.
