The TVBAwards 2015 is finally upon us! The event, now in its second year, has relocated to the Bloomsbury Ballroom in central London

The TVBAwards 2015 is finally upon us! The event, now in its second year, has relocated to the Bloomsbury Ballroom in central London, and will be a night of celebration for teams and tech across the broadcast industry. The finalists have been selected by an independent panel of judges and will be announced this evening. We have been profiling the shortlisted projects and companies in the run-up to the TVBAwards and today the focus is on the PR, Marketing and Communications Team of the Year.

Bubble and Squeak is 15 years old and has seen continued growth in turnover, employees and brand reputation, due to results gained for its clients and additional work in raising the profile of women throughout the industry. The company aims to change the way traditional PR and marketing is provided through a number of initiatives, and this summer launched the Bubble Bugle newspaper. MD Sadie Groom actively promotes women in broadcast, and as founder of FBI (Females in Broadcast Industry) group, Groom launched the European Women’s Initiative for Sports Video Group, gives regular free training to the Women in AV Group and is on the board of Women in Film and TV.

Also shortlisted for the award is Platform PR, which handled Ericsson’s recent UHDTV campaign, highlighting the company’s groundbreaking compression work. Platform’s management of Ericsson’s speaker programme supported the coverage leveraged from its paper on HDR research, which won the NAB Best Paper Award in April 2015. Platform’s “deep-rooted experience in the industry and specialisation in content creation has enabled us to establish a strong voice in an increasingly noisy, competitive space,” a spokesperson from Ericsson explained.

Manor Marketing is also finalist in the category, for managing the contract for Cobham’s involvement with the Volvo Ocean Race. Pre-race activities included regular media alerts, site visits with journalists and Cobham partners/management (including New Year 2015 in Abu Dhabi), to social media engagement, website generation and promotion, video shoots, blogs, coordinating the branding, purchase and dissemination of marketing collateral. “They surpassed our expectations and that is down to not only their professionalism and industry contacts/knowledge, but also their determination, persistence, support and enthusiasm,” said Neil Tomlinson, Cobham.

Troy Patterson oversaw Cinegy’s marketing and events department for four years and his work for the company has led to it being shortlisted for the PR, Marketing and Communication accolade. The department’s work has included rolling out the SDI Must Die campaign, which focused on informing the global broadcast market of the benefits of an IP based infrastructure. The SDI Must Die campaign by Cinegy has been featured in industry leading magazines across Europe, North America, South America and Russia, along with large onsite campaigns at key trade shows.

The winners of all TVBAwards will be revealed at the event this evening. TVBEurope is looking forward to celebrating with all nominees, winners and guests at the event later, and we hope to see you there!
