NewBay Media has announced that Will Strauss will become the new editor of its TV Technology Europe title, taking the reins of the quarterly print publication as of issue three, which is published in May.
Strauss is a renowned and highly respected freelance writer and editor who has been covering the broadcast industry for more than 15 years. NewBay Media executive editor, James McKeown, who oversees both TV Technology Europe and its sister brand TVBEurope, explained his delight at the appointment by stating: “Will’s knowledge, experience and passion will prove invaluable in helping to drive the long-term development of the TV Technology Europe brand, and I’m sincerely thrilled to welcome him aboard.
“There is still a huge amount of untapped potential in the service this brand can provide to the market, and having the right person at the helm is critical to fulfilling our strategy and ambition.”
On his appointment, Strauss explained, “In a complicated, diverse and ever-changing business like the broadcast industry, it is important to be able to compile useful information and disseminate it in a rational and understandable way. That is what I plan to do as editor of TV Technology Europe.
“There will be little or no marketing fluff or techno-babble, just to-the-point features, reviews, case studies and analysis covering the latest technology innovation, usage and development from across Europe, both in print and online.”
Strauss’ appointment coincides with the launch of www.tvtechnologyeurope.com, the brand’s new standalone website and the home of an enhanced roster of unique features, reviews, case studies, user reports, product news, and more.
“Following its re-launch, and now with its own website, TV Technology Europe has so much potential,” Strauss continued. “Working closely with the great in-house team at NewBay Media, and making use of a crack squad of contributors, I believe we have the opportunity to create something special.”
