Television Entertainment Reality Network (TERN) has struck a deal to acquire the format library of Flare Media.

Flare creates a range of formats from anywhere between concept and final production, and its portfolio includes work for Club 27 and game show Who’s on Top.

Through Insight TV, TERN produces over 200 hours of original UHD content per year, and the acquisition fits in with ongoing plans to produce most formats in UHD in the coming years.

Nina Storms, a partner in Flare Media, said, “Our deal with TERN is very beneficial for our company. Working with TERN will bring more reality to our programmes.

“Through the Insight platform and distribution infrastructure and their knowledge of UHD, together with TERN we can produce our formats quicker and more interactively.”

As part of the new deal, TERN and Flare will work together in the future to create ‘new and exciting’ formats and co-productions.

Mariam Zamaray (pictured), CEO of TERN International, said, “We are building our assets and acquiring content and libraries with the latest technologies to make our programmes more interactive. This way, we can accommodate the industry’s wants and needs.

“The next step for us is to look for partnerships with technical companies and platforms.”
