TVBEurope rounds up the industry's personnel movement

Sony has appointed Giles Wood as head of services for Sony Professional Solutions Europe, while Ross Video has announced Karen Walker as VP of Camera Motion Systems.

Wood has over 20 years of experience in the B2B technology sector, having held leadership roles at BT, Fujitsu and Nortel. His new role will involve creating and delivering a wide portfolio of professional services from systems integration to consultancy.

“Giles joins Sony at an exciting juncture for our professional business as we transform towards a true solutions company offering a broad technology and services proposition to our professional customers,” said Adam Fry, VP of Sony Professional Solutions Europe. “His passion for innovation and his impressive track record in leading business transformation will be great assets to drive the next phase of our growth.”

Meanwhile Walker enters the newly created role at Ross Video from senior commercial and management roles in technology manufacturing organisations, most recently Vitec group PLC.

“Ross is an incredibly dynamic company and I am thrilled to be joining the Camera Motion Systems division at this exciting time in its development,” she said. “Our robotics range is both highly respected and fast-growing, and I am looking forward to working with our global customer base as we continue to introduce innovative new solutions to the market”.

“Karen has a rare and important blend of technical and customer-facing experience,” added Jeff Moore, executive VP and CMO at Ross Video. “The relationship we have with our robotics customers is extremely close and I know she’ll do a great job of strengthening this at the same time as driving exciting new product developments that help our customers create even more compelling content.”
