Sony acquires virtualised production specialist Nevion

Sony said the acquisition will further enhance its portfolio, providing end-to-end IP and Cloud-based production solutions for broadcasting and other applications.

Sony has announced the acquisition of virtualised media production solutions company Nevion.

Sony said the acquisition will further enhance its portfolio, providing end-to-end IP and Cloud-based production solutions for broadcasting and other applications. It also intends to deliver more integrated solutions.

Financial details of the deal have not been released. Sony, which has been a minority shareholder in Nevion since July 2019, is purchasing the remaining shares in the company, and making it a subsidiary.
