Sky sues TIM and DAZN for €1.9 billion over Serie A deal

According to documents released alongside TIM's latest earnings report, Sky has filed a writ of summons in the Court of Milan

Sky has launched a €1.9 billion lawsuit against Telecom Italia (TIM) and sports streamer DAZN over losses it claims it suffered following a breach of antitrust laws when the two companies were awarded the rights to distribute Serie A matches.

According to documents released alongside TIM’s latest earnings report, Sky filed a writ of summons in the Court of Milan, which was served on TIM on March 25, 2026.

The move followed a 2023 decision by Italy’s antitrust authority that the award of Serie A rights to TIM-DAZN for the 2021-2024 period restricted competition.

The document released by TIM states that Sky is claiming €1.1 billion in lost profit, as well as damages estimated between €280-380 million for alleged depreciation of the brand.

Key hearings in the case are expected to take place in the final quarter of 2026, said TIM.
