SIS LIVE and BT sign major fibre network deal

BT is to provide SIS LIVE with an MPLS-based fibre network as part of a five-year agreement. The two companies will make use of each other’s infrastructure and so expand their presence in the fibre and satellite service markets.

BT is to provide SIS LIVE with an MPLS-based fibre network as part of a five-year agreement. The two companies will make use of each other’s infrastructure and so expand their presence in the fibre and satellite service markets. SIS LIVE will become preferred reseller of the BT Broadcast Fibre and Media Network, and will use this agreement to provide the best value and a comprehensive service to its clients. This network will also connect the main SIS LIVE headquarters in Milton Keynes and MediaCityUK, Salford with BT Tower and resilient connectivity directly to strategically important locations around the UK, which includes major UK broadcasters. The network also incorporates 158 BT Fibre ingest points, which cover most major sporting and cultural venues in the UK, including all Premiership and Championship football grounds, Elstree Studios, Echo Arena in Liverpool, the O2 in London and the Oval Cricket Ground. Mark Wilson-Dunn, VP of global sales and Marketing for BT Media and Broadcast commented, “SIS LIVE has a compelling satellite based events business, and we have a great fibre solution.
