SES Platform Services has finalised its merger with RR Media to create rebranded media services company MX1.
SES, which completed the $242 million purchase of RR Media back in February, has brought the companies together to enhance SES’s video capabilities to deliver and monetise video services across all platforms.
MX1’s mandate is to leverage the global networks and cloud technologies of both companies to offer a full suite of digital video and media end-to-end solutions for media businesses.
The company will be led by newly-appointed CEO Avi Cohen, previously CEO of RR Media.
“We are confident that the new MX1 will leverage the expertise and success they have garnered in their respective key markets to expand their product portfolio,” said Wilfried Urner, CEO of SES Media Solutions.
“The addition of MX1 to the SES group is a first step in globalising SES’s video services business and in accelerating the completion of our goal to become one of the leading next generation media service providers.”
