Ross Video acquires visual development company Coiron Inc

Aims to develop a suite of applications for use with the XPression family of real-time motion graphics systems

Ross Video has announced the acquisition of Coiron Inc, with the aim of developing a suite of applications for use with the XPression family of real-time motion graphics systems.

Financial details of the acquisition have not been revealed. Coiron’s CEO Carlos Vasquez will join Ross Video’s graphics division in the role of technical product manager for the Ross Virtual Solutions group.

The company said the deal will enable it to develop its XPression applications which are used for sports analysis, virtual studio production and interactive touch screen video presentations.

“I’ve always been impressed with Carlos’ brilliance, integrity, and the fact that he’s an all-around nice guy”, said David Ross, CEO of Ross. “Coiron is a perfect fit for Ross”.

“After years of collaboration, which has evolved from producing real-time graphics and data integration projects for Ross customers, to building and releasing live production products together, we are now moving into the next phase of our relationship,” added Carlos Vasquez. “We’re looking forward to contributing as much as we can to deliver new, outstanding solutions for our global customers, especially in the Virtual Solutions product line.”
