The Premier League has reportedly pushed its decision over the two unsold rights packages into April.
According to City AM, the League could be forced into making a “cut-price” deal for the remaining 40 games.
The Premier League announced it had sold five of its seven rights deals for the 2019-22 seasons to BT and Sky last month.
But the remaining two have yet to be sold, with some speculation Amazon is pondering a repackaged deal.
Analysts are now suggesting the two remaining packages are unlikely to fetch the £600 million which had previously been touted as the cost for the 40 games.
