Pixel Power is taking over management of software-defined, networked multiviewer and monitoring platform R&S Prismon from parent company Rohde & Schwarz.
Pixel Power will continue to develop its automation, graphics and integrated playout solutions based on Gallium and StreamMaster, but now has “all competencies” to position and advance R&S Prismon.
According to Rohde & Schwarz, the decision to focus its software media portfolio within Pixel Power, enables it to meet industry expectations using the latest technologies and techniques in software development.
As part of the move, Thorsten Sauer has been appointed CEO of Pixel Power, while James Gilbert moves to SVP sales and marketing.
“The broadcast industry is undergoing a transformation. While delivering great viewing experiences remains central, security as well as optimising revenue and cost have become paramount for our customers,” said Sauer.
“That is what has driven this change in structure. We are making Pixel Power the centre of excellence for providing flexible software solutions for mission-critical applications that work seamlessly in the ecosystem. We are putting our customers’ priorities at the centre of everything we do. We focus on our core products and core mission: to help our customers gain a competitive advantage by optimising their content creation and delivery, making broadcast seamless.”
