Steve Kruger joins Gravity Media as executive director of technology

Former head of technology at ITV Studios Entertainment Steve Kruger has joined Gravity Media as the company’s new executive director of technology.

He will be based in the UK, heading up Gravity Media’s technical function across the global operation, said the company.

His recent career highlights include designing and overseeing the implantation of the remote outside broadcast and post facilities for ITV’s Love Island during the pandemic.

Kruger has worked on some of the UK’s most ambitious TV productions across various genres: Reality (I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Hell’s Kitchen, Love Island), Sport (London Olympics) and delivered live TV from some very unusual locations (Saturday Night Takeaway live from a Cruise ship, I’m a Celebrity US in Costa Rica, Survival of the Fittest in remote South Africa).

Kruger’s appointment will further allow Gravity Media to focus on their workflows and post production techniques, said the company.

Speaking about his new role, Kruger said: “Technology underpins everything that Gravity Media does and ensures the company remains at the forefront of production, post production and creative solutions. Working closely with John Newton, Eamonn Dowdall, Pete Newton, Steve Norris, and the rest of our extremely talented team, my new role will ensure Gravity Media can continue to deliver the best service and technical support to every client and project globally.

“I am extremely proud to be joining Gravity Media at such a pivotal time for the company as it continues its global expansion.”
