Meet the… regional director

Paloma Santucci, regional director LatAm at Accedo, tells TVBEurope why staying curious is essential in the fast-moving world of media and entertainment

Talk us through an average day in your role.

My day revolves around staying connected with the market—something I’m truly passionate about, which makes my work incredibly fulfilling. I manage key media accounts across Latin America, engaging in strategic discussions, reviewing ongoing projects, and exploring new opportunities and technologies. Additionally, I attend major industry events and meet with companies seeking an OTT solution or looking to upgrade their current platform.

How did you get started in the media industry?

I began my career in the VAS (Value-Added Services) sector, working closely with telecom operators to enhance user interactivity. My transition into the media industry happened when I joined one of Brazil’s leading broadcasters, and I later entered the streaming market while managing content for one of the first smart TVs to hit the market.

What training did you have before entering the industry?

At the time, there were no specialised courses tailored to this industry. However, I graduated and completed my postgraduate studies in Digital Marketing, complemented by targeted courses covering various facets of the media industry. That said, nothing proved more valuable than hands-on experience—learning by doing has been the most significant part of my growth.

Why do you enjoy working in the industry?

This industry is both challenging and incredibly rewarding. Being part of the rapid evolution of technology and its impact on major media companies is exciting. The fast-paced nature of the industry keeps things exciting, and bringing all the pieces together is what makes the job so dynamic. Plus, the people in this field are truly inspiring—discussing entertainment often feels like being part of the entertainment itself!

What piece of advice would you offer someone looking to explore a role similar to yours?

Start by seeking inspiration—identify industry leaders who motivate you, connect with key communities, and explore relevant books and resources. More importantly, stay curious and bold. This industry evolves at lightning speed, and keeping up with it is both a challenge and an adventure. Adaptability and a passion for innovation are essential for success!
