People on the move – September 2010

New hirings in the industry this month, from Chyron to WRN Broadcast.

At Ross Video, well-known industry executive Nigel Spratling (pictured) has been appointed into product marketing. Spratling has held senior positions at Snell & Wilcox, Nvision, ADC Telecommunications, and Sigma Electronics. He was responsible for creating the NAB-HD pavilion and has served as chair of the NAB Exhibitor’s board. Spratling up until recently was president and CEO at Echolab, a provider of live video production equipment that was put into liquidation by its primary investor in May despite being in recovery after several years of losses.

At Chyron Paul Glasgow is now vice president of Sales for EMEA. Glasgow is an integral part of the team based in the London office. In the past Glasgow has helped introduce da Vinci and EMC² IT-based media solutions to Europe, as well as working with Avid and Sony Broadcast. And at Chyron headquarters in the US, Susan Brazer has been named chief commercial officer. Most recently Brazer was managing director of LionShare Strategies.

Harris Corporation has named Doug Means vice president and general manager of the new Workflow, Infrastructure and Networking (WIN) unit of its Broadcast Communications business. Means reports to Harris Morris, president of Harris Broadcast Communications.

Rainer Litfin, a long-time Lawo employee, has filled the position of director of sales for Germany/Austria. Liffin has been with Lawo since 1985 and has worked in Test Bay & Commissioning and Service & Support.

OmniBus Systems has appointed Roger Bowley as regional sales manager for the UK and Ireland. With a track record of experience in senior sales roles for industry leaders such as Snell and Quantel, Bowley will report to OmniBus Executive Vice Pesident, Greg Hoskin.

Matt Turner has joined Rushes as director of Telecine. In this role leading the grading dept, Turner will work closely with Colourists Simone Grattarola and Denny Cooper. He previously worked at Company 3 in LA and his credits included Superbowl spots for Bridgestone, Coke Zero and Kia.

WRN Broadcast has announced the appointment of Jonathan Low as head of sales and business development. Low joins WRN Broadcast from Globecast, where he was business development nanager in London and New York.
