This month's movements in the European broadcast industry, stretching from Cable Europe to Vizrt.

Phabrix has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of Rob Arnold (pictured) as sales manager EMEA. Arnold joins from OmniTek, where he helped develop the company’s sales channels in over 35 countries. From 1999 to 2005, Arnold served as regional sales manager for Accom.

Cable Europe has announced the appointment Peter Percosan as managing director to oversee the pan-European operation of Cable Europe Labs (CEL). Percosan succeeds Malcolm Taylor who successfully served the association for many years. Percosan will work alongside the Managing Director of Cable Europe, Caroline van Weede.

Broadcast audio console maker Calrec has announced the promotion of Anthony Harrison to regional sales executive. In this new role, Harrison will have particular responsibility for Calrec’s markets in the Middle East. He previously spent three years as Calrec’s exhibitions coordinator.

EVS Broadcast Equipment has appointed Maximilien d’Oreye as its business development manager and Quentin Grutman as its new EMEA general sales manager. d’Oreye comes to EVS from Newtec, the Belgian manufacturer of satellite TX equipment. Grutman is taking over from Henry Alexander, former EMEA general sales manager. He previously worked for eight years at Oracle in various international sales management positions.

At Front Porch Digital, Mark Hayes is the new director of business development for online video platforms (OVPs). In the new position, Hayes’ primary responsibility will be developing new revenue opportunities for DIVApublish. Hayes’ experience in the online video business includes spells at Macromedia and Highwinds.

Quantel has announced the appointment of Mike Grieve to the position of director of sales, EMEA. Grieve joins from Filmlight, where he was sales director. “Mike is a very welcome addition to the Quantel team,” said Martin Mulligan, Quantel director of sales and marketing. “His track record is impressive and his knowledge of the market, particularly on the post side, is second to none.” Quantel has also appointed Robin Adams as director of sales, Asia Pacific.

Ross Video has appointed Meng Soo as product manager for routing systems. Soo joined Ross Video in 2004 as a member of the production switcher engineering team, and then as the lead of the openGear engineering group as technical product manager.

Suhail Ahmed has joined TSL Middle East as manager, Technical Services, with responsibility for support for current, existing and future projects in the area. Ahmed comes to TSL from CNBC Arabia where he was bureau operations manager.

Håvard Saunes Myklebust is the new executive vice president of marketing at Vizrt, based in Bergen. Myklebust fills the post vacated by Dr François Laborie, who is now chief commercial officer for Vizrt. Mykleburst comes to Vizrt from TV 2, the largest commercial television station in Norway.
