New meet-up for production professionals, filmmakers, and content creators launches in Manchester

REC:MCR will include networking, project showcases, a guest speaker and optional breakout discussions for freelancers, emerging talent or production leaders

A new creative industry event will launch in Manchester this month as it aims to bring together the city’s film, video and content-production community.

The inaugural REC:MCR will take place on Tuesday 20 January from 6pm to 9pm at Campfield in Manchester.

It aims to offer production companies, freelancers, producers, editors, camera operators, in-house brand teams and emerging talent a place to connect, collaborate and share their work and is backed by Manchester-based companies, Coolbox Video Studio and Triangle Facilities Hub.

“Manchester’s production scene is full of talent, but we often work in our own pockets. REC:MCR is about bringing everyone into the same room,” said Marc J Grundy, founder of Coolbox Video Studio.

“We want this to be a space where people feel energised, connected and encouraged to push their creative work further. Whether you run a studio, freelance full-time or are just starting out, this event is for you.”

Alain Lolliot, co-founder of Triangle Facilities Hub, added: “When people share their experiences and challenges openly, we all benefit. REC:MCR is a chance to bring the talented filmmakers, production, and facilities companies of Manchester and the North West together—creating new as well as strengthening existing relationships, encouraging collaboration, and learning from one another.”

Each session will include networking, project showcases, a guest speaker and optional breakout discussions for freelancers, emerging talent or production leaders.

The first event is free to attend. More details are available here.
