New broadcast names enter the frame for Premier League top job

Premier League is on the hunt for a new chief executive

UKTV’s Darren Childs and former YouView boss Richard Halton are the latest names being touted as possible new CEO for the Premier League.

According to The Guardian, both are under consideration, while outgoing BT chief executive Gavin Patterson is being urged to add his name to the list of contenders.

Eurosport’s Susanna Dinnage was expected to replace Richard Scudamore, but she announced her decision not to take up the role last month. Attention then turned to BBC Studios’ Tim Davie, however he is now said to have turned the role down.

Childs has run UKTV since 2010, while Halton stepped down from YouView in December.
