How long have you been going to IBC?
This will be my first time attending IBC. I plan to experience the event in person, explore the latest broadcasting innovations, and gain new perspectives on emerging technologies.
What’s your intended IBC routine: what are you there to see/learn, who are you there to meet?
At IBC, my focus will be on exploring the latest developments in artificial intelligence, automation, and virtual studio technologies, while identifying practical solutions to enhance efficiency in specific areas of broadcast operations. I am particularly interested in approaches that strengthen fact-checking in journalism and advance content verification processes. In 2024, I was honoured with the European Broadcasting Union’s Young Technology Talent Award for my AI-based fake news detection project, and I aim to connect these insights with both my ongoing PhD research and future professional projects.
Why is IBC important to you in a professional capacity, and how does the show compare to others on the calendar?
IBC is one of the places where the future of the broadcasting industry is shaped, but for me, it is more than a stage for new products. It is where ideas, innovation, and purpose converge. Unlike other events, IBC gathers the entire ecosystem, from creative visionaries to technical pioneers, fostering conversations that spark real transformation. For public service media, this setting is invaluable, as it is a space to discover technologies that do not just push boundaries but do so with responsibility and impact. Here, every innovation is an opportunity to serve audiences better, and every connection is a step toward a more inclusive, forward-thinking broadcasting landscape.
What are you most looking forward to at IBC2025?
At IBC2025, I am most interested in seeing how emerging technologies, especially AI and virtual production, are being applied in ways that bring real value to broadcasting. I would like to explore practical innovations that can strengthen content verification in news broadcasting and support more efficient, adaptable workflows. It is also a chance to gain new perspectives from global industry professionals and see how creative and technical approaches come together to shape the future of our field.
What’s your top tip for anyone attending IBC for the first time?
As a first-time attendee myself, I would say preparation is key. Review the programme in advance, identify the sessions, exhibitors, and networking opportunities most aligned with your objectives, and arrange meetings with key contacts early. At the same time, leave space in your schedule for spontaneous exploration, as some of the most valuable insights often emerge from unexpected conversations.
